International conference “The #covid19 crisis: impact on society and relationships. Conclusions and forecasts”

On June 12, 2020, the Foundation for Support of Democratic Initiatives held an international conference “The #covid19 Crisis: Impact on Society and Relations. Conclusions and forecasts”. The conference was held online using the Zoom platform.

The event consisted of three panels.

Panel one: “Pandemic and social relations”.

The topics for discussion were as follows:

  1. Do the new conditions require a new model and philosophy of relations?
  2. Individualism vs. collectivism: what will change in the attitude of a person to others and the world?
  3. Will consumer society become a thing of the past?

Speakers:

Moderator: Yuriy Mindyuk, Director of the Foundation for Support of Democratic Initiatives.

Panel Two. A Christian vision of the post-pandemic future of humanity. .

Topics for discussion:

  1. A just future through the eyes of a Christian.
  2. Is it possible to rebuild Europe and Ukraine on Christian principles?
  3. Formation of a new life philosophy based on Christianity.

Speakers:

Moderator: Oksana Horkusha, PhD in Philosophy, Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Panel three. Post-pandemic economy.

Topics for discussion:

  1. Macroeconomic overview of the global situation caused by the pandemic.

Moderator: Olga Romanenko , Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, Associate Professor of KNTEU, Member of the Presidium of the Council of Young Scientists at the Ministry of Education and Science.
