According to the “Foundation for Promotion of Democracy”the educational project “School of Social and Political Education”. As in the previous year, the project aims to provide students with basic knowledge of the formation of modern democratic states and the influence of ideologies on their development. The Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine is a constant partner in the implementation of the project .
Training takes place through webinars in the Zoom service. Format: first, an online lecture, followed by questions from the audience and discussion.
The project considers completely different ideologies, and while in 2020 it was conservatism, liberalism, and social democracy, in 2021 we started with Christian democracy, an ideology that can be considered one of the most influential in the European Union. Further plans include feminism, libertarianism, nationalism, the green idea, far-left and far-right ideologies, as well as the European idea, reformism, modernization, and an in-depth discussion of conservatism, liberalism, and social democracy.
According to the authors of the project, Ukraine desperately needs such Ukrainian-language projects, as most citizens have little understanding of the issue, which allows politicians to manipulate the minds of voters by telling fables about libertarianism and radical centrism.

In addition, the Democracy Promotion Foundation and the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine have launched a brand new project – the Political Education Course for Conscious Citizens. This is an online course designed to educate real leaders among politically active citizens, provide basic and advanced knowledge of the value foundations of the EU and Ukraine, teach the principles of conscious citizenship and the functioning of the political system in a democracy and public authorities. The program also aims to develop basic team-building skills, the ability to be a responsible leader, and improve communication skills.
