Our goals
We strive to build a society in which citizens have the knowledge, critical thinking, and tools to consciously participate in democratic processes. We are convinced that progress is possible when analytics, education, and media work towards a common goal – a strong and sustainable civil society.
Each of our projects – from daily monitoring of disinformation to large-scale research and educational programs – is subordinated to a long-term goal: strengthening democratic institutions, protecting freedom of speech, and increasing Ukraine’s social resilience.
Our story
The Foundation for Promoting Democracy was founded in 2005 with a simple idea: to provide Ukrainian citizens with the knowledge and tools to participate in public life. From the first educational programs and publishing projects, we have grown to become a full-fledged research, analytical and media organization.
In 2018, we launched the Conservative Platform to study the ideas of Christian democracy, and in 2020, the School of Social and Political Education with free online courses. The full-scale invasion of 2022 was the point at which we created the InfoLight.UA research and analytical group to counteract hostile disinformation on a daily basis, and later the Ukrainian Experts Talks expert podcast and a number of new analytical and humanitarian projects.
Our path is shaped by the voices of experts, journalists, researchers, and concerned citizens who share a commitment to truth, responsibility, and democratic values. Together we are building a solid foundation for the future of Ukraine.
