From June 21 to 23, the School of Civic Engagement program was launched in Kyiv, organized by the Foundation for Support of Democratic Initiatives in cooperation with ECPM (European Christian Political Movement) and FICDD (Foundation for Christian Democratic Development) with the support of the NGO Ukrainian Strategy.

The event was held at the Bohdan Khmelnytsky Hotel.

The event was attended by about 30 participants.
Eric van Dijk, Head of Education and Council of the Christian Union Party (Netherlands), spoke on the topic“The Concept of Social Responsibility in Politics, Economics and Other Spheres: From Abraham Kuyper to the Christian Union”. Also on the second day of the seminar, he spoke about the current political landscape of the European Union in his presentation“Elections in the European Union. The Political Landscape”.

Roman Sklyarov, head of the Center for Economic Democracy, made a presentation on“The Future of Capitalism: Economic Democracy and the Creative Class” and presented his book “Paradise 2070.“

International Secretary of the Ukrainian Students’ Union Anna Masna spoke on the topic“The Problem of Populism and Responsibility in Ukrainian Society.”

D. in Philosophy, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Oksana Horkusha made a presentationon “Challenges and Prospects for Christian Values in the Context of the Dominance of Vulgar Utilitarianism – the Modern Ukrainian Context.”
The seminar participants also worked in small groups to develop answers to the question“My plan for reforms in Ukraine,” after which they presented their projects.

As a result, it was agreed to prepare for the next seminar within the framework of the School of Public Engagement.
